Hi Nan,
ReplyDeleteI conserve by composting, always buying energy star appliances, turning lights off as much as possible, always use organic fertilizer or manure, eat organic and/or local foods, growing more of my own food this year, have water barrel & use to water plants, use solar lights outside, and this I am going to be planting some seeds to honor Earth Day. Thanks for sharing your ideas,
Thanks Marla. I can count on you to set such a good example for green living. I don't think I've mentioned this before. Planting and maintaining a garden is a way for us to be grounded, a spiritual way to connect us to the planet and each other.
DeleteGreat advices! I love nature, wildlife and animals. It is a strong driving force to care for the environment and the health of the Earth. I try my best to live as sustainable as I can without going off the grid. Since gardening is one of my passions I love to grow things to support wildlife. Thank you for caring for the planet and all the living!
ReplyDeleteThanks Charlotte for the encouragement and your great green living ideas. Yes, now that so much of our lands are industrialized, wildlife has a challenging time surviving. Thanks for being so dedicated and kind to all living creatures.
DeleteHello - I've read this just in the nick of time! I think I'll do some veggie planting to honour this special day. I dug the patch over last week when I found some time on my hands and the weather was fine - now I need to get planting (I already have some chitted potatoes and some onions from my Dad to get in). I often cycle to the gym rather than drive, so I'll make sure I do that too. #HHGN blog hop
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Vanessa. for sharing. I must admit I didn't know what "chitted potatoes" meant, so I researched the term. For those who want to know what it means or want to "chit potatoes" for your garden, here's a link from Mother Earth News @ http://www.motherearthnews.com/organic-gardening/greensprouting-potatoes-zb0z1203zlon.aspx. Happy Earth Day and keep up the great eco-friendly lifestyle. Warm regards, Nancy A.
